The girls and I are all stretched out and feeling pretty good after all the yoga and meditation. We did not make it to the San Miguel Basin Fair. I am sure we missed a really good time with those cowboys! This weekend is the 4x4 and it is always a thrill to ride those rocky and steep trails to see the beautiful scenery and abundant wildflowers.I hope that Will and Lacey get a chance to take in a jeep ride after their exciting wedding this weekend!Burgers, fries and beer will be a good follow-up to a scenic tour of the mountains.Sit a spell at our sidewalk cafe.Florie

Everyone has had a nice break after a terrific summer of music and activities. The mountain has opened with some turns on Misty Maiden with hopes of more slopes opening soon!

The crew is back and ready to serve up some tastey morsels. The BBQ honey chipotle chicken wings really hit the spot after skiing. The Paella and Seafood Steamer appetizer have returned to the winter fare. Check out the brunch, lunch, bar and dinner menus on this website

Geneva and Nicole are making some fun theme parties for locals and anyone wandering the streets. I begins with a theme and add a local DJ for some great tunes and costumes. The fun usually begins about 10:30 PM until it's done. Watch the  ads for theme and date!!!

Welcome back and lets get the snow falling.

The leaves are rapidly changing after the past few cold nights that left a little frost on the punkin!

There have been some lucky couples tying the knot the past few weekends. What a superb time of year for this!

The fall soccer leagues are wrapping up the season with some futbol in the down valley field. That will be fun!

There are some talented photographers in town using their talents on the colorful mountainsides.

The summer is winding down and it has been great fun with all the music, art and activities. Let's move on to some cooler weather and the entrance into the winter and snow and skiing, of course.

The Floradora Saloon will be open until after the spooky movies at the Horror Fest. Then we will close for some restorative recreations. We'll reopen a week before Thanksgiving.

It's been fun.

Blues and Brews

We are really beginning to feel the change of the season now. As I look at the Aspens I see some bits of yellow creeping into the landscape. Ah, it smells good.

This weekend we will be having the Kirk James band from Durango. I am looking forward to some great blues. The band will play Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at 10PM. A cover of $5 will be well worth the wonderful sounds.

Expect to drink some delicious brews in the park then head to the Floradora Saloon for some more live blues.

The Imogene race was another great event. Those hardy and healthy soles that endured the ups and downs of Imogene deserve a burger and beer.

The kids are back in school and the line of traffic at 8AM is pretty long.

Film Festival will be here next weekend. Get out your sunglasses. Be patient in the lines. Do some star gazing.

We are having a party Aug 31st at 11PM with a DJ. Cowboys and aliens is the theme. Get dressed up and have some fun.

AH, Chamber Music is delightful. Immerse yourself in lovely music and daydream!

The weather has been incredible with plenty of sunshine and just enough clouds passing to cool me off. The sidewalk cafe is really fitting the bill for this weather.

We are having a WILD TOGA Party tonight, Wednesday August, 17. I am sure there will be some recreations of Animal House.

I hope everyone has fun! I'll find out tomorrow!

Tonight is our flank steak, grilled onions and peppers over mashed potatoes for $9.99. Wonderful Special

I think Roscoe is gathering ideas and mushrooms for the Mushroom Festival this coming weekend. A little moisture always helps those mushrooms spread.

Til next time....Florie

Jazz Festival 2011

We are in the midst of Jazz and really liking all the wonderful music. The All-Stars Jazz group played here last night and they were fabulous. The group ranges from 15 to 19 years old and the music is as sophisticated and aged as you want. They will play in the park on Saturday and I highly recommend hearing them!!

Our fried chicken and waffles on Thursday nights have been a success. At $9.99 how can anyone go any other way?

Don't let the monsoonal rains get you down. Come to the Floradora Saloon for some good, wholesome food. Live it up and have some dessert.
