The old addage, "Timing is Everything", couldn't be more true -- especially in this election cycle.

Eight weeks ago, it looked like McCain was going to sail to victory on the war. Then the economy turned and it seemed certain that Obama would be the next man in the White House. For all the concern voters had about the war, energy and immigration, nothing but jobs and the economy matter anymore.

This poll asks which candidate has the better jobs agenda --

I'm willing to bet that the results predict the outcome of the election.

As I watched the debate last night I was heartened to see that both candidates seem to understand that in order for the U.S. to achieve energy independence we must consider every available opportunity to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. I feel like this debate has been so bogged down by party politics that we have not seen the reusults that we need to take control of our energy future. I have been particualarly disappointed by Rep. Mark Udall -- he is oddly attached to the idea that domestic oil is evil. I really don't get it. Especially since all of the experts seem to agree that domestic energy has to be a piece of a comprehensive plan for energy independence. Udall's record on this is atrocious. I found this clip that details it pretty well. . .

Our representatives need to abandon party politics and work in the best interest of the public to develop a plan that ends our addiction to foreign oil.
