I think that the town of telluride should put a ban on all gas powered mowers. Here is the reason why, ecomowers.com reports that "The average gasoline powered motor tested by the EPA emits in one hour the same amount of hydrocarbons that a 1992 Ford Explorer (an SUV people!) emits over 23,600 miles". In a town that prides itself on being environmentally aware and active, this one seems like a no brainer. We love exercise, so why not make it illegal not to use a push mower. It isn't exactly like we have 3 acre lots with huge yards. If you wanted to take it a step further you could ask the town to do the same or at least find alternate fuels for the mowers they use for the parks and rec. It's just a suggestion people so don't beat me down here. But I would love to hear what you think. Check out the site it is pretty cool. ecomowers.com.

Quibblo.com - Is a great site that allows you to build custom quizzes that can then be embeded into your site, blog, email, or wherever else you would like for people to see it. Now primarily on the site currently are just juvenile quizzes based on "who you would like to date" or "what your astrological sign says about you" but you can imagine how this would be a really great business tool. Picture having a quiz asking what your potential customers think of your site, what is their income level or demographic, and what type of information did they find useful. Tell me what you think.

PDF documents are probably the most used file on the web next to .jpg, .gif, or text. The only problem is whether or not the person has the latest download of the reader or their connection speed. I mean the worst part is waiting for a download to happen only to open the doc and find out it is not what you were looking for. The other side of this is that the file downloads quickly but the resolution is horrible and it makes the document look bad. Well not to fear Docstoc.com is here. This online site allows you to upload not only PDF documents but Excel, Word, and PowerPoint presentations as well to their site. Then they give you this nifty little widget that actually allows you to put your document live on your site. No downloading just a flash plugin that is already installed in most browsers. Tell me what you think. I am listening.

It doesn't get any better than $8 a night!
view image
For my first post I would like to ask all the viewers out there a question. Do you ever remember search through the Sunday edition for the best coupons or sales? If you do then this post is going to be right up your alley. I would like for you to start thinking of the "web" as the largest and most complete "Sunday Edition" you have ever seen. If you know how and where to look you can find deals, sales, and specials on any product, service, or destination that you are looking for. Case in point. Super 8 motels are currently running a special called the _“Super 8 Rooms for $8.88” offer._ Have your credit card handy. Search out the room of your choosing and be sure the stay is for one night and for a date between 8/8/08 and 12/30/08.

If it is after 8 pm, and all 800 rooms haven’t already been sold for the day, the website will allow you to book your room (limit one per person) immediately. Be sure to have your Wyndham Rewards account numbers already populated and ready to go! Imagine staying in the San Juan Mountains for $8. If that's not a deal, I don't know what is.

Offers like this one are all over the web. If you need help finding them or have an offer of your own that you want to get out there on the web contact me the Telluride Tech guy. Leave a comment on this blog with your questions or contact me through my business listing on this site. Just type in Telluride Worldwide in the search bar at the top of this page and select the drop down of businesses.
