TELLURIDE – To complement marketing efforts in the new year, the Telluride Tourism Board has launched a video campaign contest. Working with Telluride videographer Dutch Simpson, TTB is producing a series of six short videos capturing everything from the magic of winter as experienced by a child to a family adventure, winter fly fishing; the Telluride arts scene and a local’s perspective of this unique town.
Simpson’s first video can be viewed at: http://vimeo.com/82102061. TTB encourages locals and guests to submit their own “Made in Telluride Moment” video or photo on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Whoever submits the most popular entry wins a trip for two to Telluride that includes a four-night stay at Hotel Madeline, two three-day lift tickets, and a flight for two people to Telluride. The winner will be selected on March 12.
All videos will be posted on Vimeo at http://vimeo.com/channels/madeintelluridemoments and other TTB social outlets including Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter. Two videos per month will be released through March. To learn more about the contest and how to enter, go to visittelluride.com/madeintelluridecontest.
Azadi Announces Angel Award Recipients
Azadi Fine Rugs is pleased to announce the recipients of its Second Annual Azadi Angel Awards: Nancy Landau, M’Lin Miller and Mark Buchsieb. Created by owner David Neishabori, the program recognizes “angels” within the community. The three angels will be honored and $1000 will be donated in their name to the charity of their choice at an awards reception on Wednesday, Jan. 15, at Azadi on Colorado Ave. at 5:30 p.m.
Landau is a tireless volunteer for Wilkinson Public Library, working to develop Friends of the Library from inactivity to a thriving membership of over 200 people, in collaboration with over 25 local businesses. She also led the collaboration between the Telluride Film Festival, Mountainfilm and the library, leading to a state-of-the-art media center free to members of the community.
Miller, volunteer coordinator for the Telluride Adaptive Sports Program, has spent countless hours organizing program volunteers.
Buchsieb has worked with the Telluride Academy and Sheridan Opera House, served on Telluride Town Council, and worked behind the scenes with the Bluegrass Festival, Telluride Film Festival, Telluride Jazz Festival and Mountainfilm Festival. He is a crossing guard at Telluride Elementary School each day.
Those interested in attending the reception should RSVP to 970/728-4620.
