My name is Hugo Fischer and I am a Ski Ranch home owner, owning a home at 45 Sunshine Circle, AKA Lot 31. This lot overlooks the entrance of Mountain Village. I am being advised by several sources that the Town of Mountain Village is actually looking at land owned by the Town of Mtn.Village right at the entrance of Mountain Village to place a 200-plus car parking structure.

For obvious reasons, this is a bad idea. I do not want to look down to a parking structure holding 200-plus cars. I do not want to look at lighting that would be required to house a safe and secure parking area for 200-plus cars, for this lighting would reflect off the snow and shine up to my home and my neighbors’ homes. I do not want to see my property value plummet any more than it has due to the current economy. Are you ‘flippin’ out of your mind?

What about the cow elk, which use the area down behind my lot to bear their young ones, annually? What about the herds of elk that rest their gigantic bodies in the open space area between my lot and Mtn. Village Boulevard? Where do they go now? What about the hundreds of elk that use the land between my lot and Mtn. Village Boulevard as their private highway to gain access to the Mtn. Village area? All of the above takes place annually. I know for I have been a homeowner there for 12 years and I do not want to see parking for 200-plus cars! Are you ‘flippin’ out of your mind?

Hugo - you knew that this plot was zoned commercial. So what commercial activity would you like to see on this plot? None is not an acceptable answer, nor a realistic one. Your land was discounted because of the proximity of commercial plots. You cannot have it both ways.

Surely parking would be far better than a gas station or large commercial building with trucks ...
