Thanks to an anonymous donor to Telluride Foundation, for the past four years, the Telluride Medical Center and the patients we serve have benefited from a most generous grant from an anonymous donor to the Telluride Foundation that aims to provide preventive health care services to Telluride’s Hispanic community. Largely immigrant in nature, Telluride’s Hispanic community has historically avoided seeking out such services due to language barriers, cost and a lack of familiarity with the system. And their health has suffered because of it. As a result of this generous donation, we have been able to fully enfranchise the Hispanic community in accessing preventive health care at TMC. Thus, some lives have literally been saved and others have been markedly improved. In general, people are becoming more educated and taking more control over their health status and that is always a good thing.
Providing the means for the entirety of the Telluride community to achieve and maintain good health is vital in sustaining a strong, vibrant community that shores up our industries and without which we would be much diminished.
We at the Telluride Medical Center would therefore like to publicly extend our sincerest thanks to the generous donor and to the Telluride Foundation for their concern and civic involvement. You have provided care for those who would have gone without and we want you to know that you have made a difference both to the individual and to the community as a whole.
Thank you again,
– Beth Kuperman, Director of Bilingual Medical Programs & Patient Navigator, Telluride Medical Center
