January 31, 1948 – February 25, 2011

Raised in the Milwaukee area of Wisconsin by Arnold and Ellen along with three brothers and a sister, Bob Luhm graduated from Greendale High School in 1966 and the University of Wisconsin in 1978 with a degree in psychology.

Bob traveled to Colorado to visit friends and after finding gainful employment decided to give winter in the mountains a try. Skiing in Telluride got Bob’s attention. Many were the summer months spent felling trees for ski runs. Bob, a gallon of fuel, a quart of motor oil, a husky with a 36-inch bar, drinking water and rain gear following surveyors marks up the steep slopes.

The fishing and hunting and the vastness kept Bob in Colorado sampling a plethora of careers. All of the building trades from concrete to shingles with drywall and paint work in the winter months. Bob made splitting firewood look like dancing.

Drawn further West and North Bob settled in Walla Walla, Washington. Always comfy in his own bones Bob enjoyed the solitary life and died with lots of admirers and no enemies.

I’ll miss him.
