I simply can’t thank the entire Telluride Community enough for all the help that you provided me and the Telluride Middle/High School Athletic Department in buying peaches over the last seven days. Last week I was in the process of having a coronary about the 200 boxes of Palisade Peaches that had arrived. Tonight, I will go home with the very last box and freeze them for the winter. In the last week there have been so many generous individuals who have bought peaches and donated to our athletic department, that singling some individuals out would be unfair. The Administrative assistants at our schools: Sharon Broady at Telluride High School, Candice DuPont at Telluride Middle School, Shelley Shuler at Telluride Intermediate School and Karen Ludwig at Telluride Elementary were instrumental in this project having a happy ending. Without their help there is no way I haven’t already had to take a day off of school to can peaches all day. I can’t thank you enough.
I never seem to come to grips with the generosity of the people in our community. It means so much to me to know that the people of our community value education and more importantly, value the kids in our school district. We are so fortunate to have the outpouring of support we get to help kids gain that extra edge.
I will never be able to express to all of you the thanks I feel for being a part of such a special school and special community. Once again, you have all gone above and beyond to make the opportunities for our kids continue.
