San Miguel County Sheriff deputies are assisting motorists caught in slick driving conditions brought by today's winter storm.

According to scanner traffic at about 11:20 a.m., "multiple vehicles spun out" on Colorado HWY 145 near Lawson Hill past the entrance to Mountain Village.

A semi tractor trailer was slowing trying to move up hill after becoming stuck when another report said more vehicles had "spun out above the semi, and the semi was going to get stuck again."

CDOT crews have been requested to respond to plow and sand both directions. There is a chain law in effect on HWY 145 at this time. There was also a report of a vehicle off the road near Keystone Hill. The Sheriff's office is using every available resource to assist motorists.
