Norwood’s Wright Stuff Community Foundation would like to thank the following organizations for helping us put on our third annual Community Block Party and Parking Lot Sale last Saturday at the San Miguel County Fairgrounds: Bruin Waste Management; Central Distributing; Clark’s Market; The Coach’s Mother; CSU Extension; Gurley Land & Cattle Co.; Happy Belly Deli; Just For Kids Foundation; The Liquor Store; Norwood Volunteer Fire Department; Norwood TruValue Hardware; San Miguel County; San Miguel Power Association; San Miguel County Fairgrounds; Schwan’s; Town of Norwood; Tuxedo Corn Company; and the Western Regional Occupant Safety Coalition.
Special thanks also goes out to the many individuals who helped put on the event and make the day a fun-filled success: Dane Robinson and his band for providing fabulous music; Gen Roach and the Norwood Farm & Craft Market for sharing their space in the Pig Palace; Norwood School Superintendent David Crews, Norwood Hardware’s Dennis Eymann, and Norwood Town Marshal Ed Reinhardt, among others, who stepped up on a lukewarm day to get dunked in the cold water of the dunk tank; Peg and Woody Wood, Barclay and Tony Daranyi, and Herb and Amy McHarg for providing alpacas, a pony and goats for the petting zoo; and Prime Time parents Jenn Dinsmore, Michelle Haynes, Jen Feeser, and Audrey Morton for pitching in to make potato salad for the barbecue.
We’d also like to thank the Prime Time teachers and staff who devoted their Saturday to hosting kids’ games, as well as the various vendors that took part in the parking lot sale. Eric Brantingham deserves huge thanks, as well, for providing continuous help throughout the day, from set up to break down, and for rallying troupes of young boys when extra help was needed.
It is because of all of these organizations and individuals that the event went off without a hitch. Because of your support, the Wright Stuff continues to serve the critical needs of working families in Norwood, Nucla, Naturita, Redvale and surrounding communities through its Prime Time Early Learning Center, Explore! youth programs and adult education classes. See you next year!
