I am a first time homebuyer in the Telluride region and wish to express my gratitude to the Telluride Association of REALTORS for granting me assistance with closing funds through their First Time Homebuyers Assistance Fund. I just closed on a cute little old home in Ophir! I am looking forward to becoming a part of the Ophir community and settling in as a homeowner in the region.
Since moving to the Telluride region three years ago, I have commuted from Norwood for various jobs in Telluride. I now work part-time with The New Community Coalition (TNCC), coordinating the energy and green building programs. Since part of my job is encouraging others to reduce their carbon footprint, I’m grateful that I will now be reducing my own commuting footprint. I also am a partner in a business (Lotus Energy Solutions) providing home energy efficiency services for residents in the region. With this as my expertise, I am excited to purchase a home that is one of the original Ophir homes and is over 100 years old. While upgrades have been done over the years, I relish the opportunity to make the home energy efficient, while maintaining its historic appearance and feel.
I’ve lived in several other locations across the country, but always felt a draw toward the Colorado Rockies. It didn’t take long living here, before I realized Telluride was home, and that I needed to start figuring out a way to “settle in” for good. To this end, I am very excited to finally be realizing my dream of owning a space high in the Rockies and becoming a permanent part of this incredible Telluride community.
Thank you TAR for your assistance with my home purchase.
