The Science of Compassion Summer Research Institute, hosted by the Telluride Institute and Stanford’s Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education, was successful in bringing together promising graduate students from psychology, neuroscience, and the health fields in effort to deepen understanding of compassion, altruism, mindfulness, and pro-social qualities. Students were exposed to the latest research and identified future directions of study with accomplished faculty members from prestigious universities and institutions. Thank you to everybody who made the SRI a huge success. Specifically, we would like to thank Tim Erdman for his deep generosity in housing the SRI students, the Wilkinson Public Library for their kind efforts in accommodating the SRI, Carmella and the Rustico staff for their late-night warm hospitality and delicious food.
The Telluride Institute would also like to thank our wonderful community for engaging in deep discussions on compassion and prosocial behavior at the public evening talks. We look forward to further collaboration with different institutions to create a research institute in Telluride to address key concerns in the field of positive psychology and compassion research. We also hope to collaborate and further more compassion in action at home and regionally.
With Deep Gratitude,
– The Telluride Institute
