Creekside Restaurant at Cobble Creek Golf Community Opens May 3

MONTROSE – Cobble Creek Golf Community showcased its new cuisine last week, while raising money for the local Helping Hands Fund.

Creekside Restaurant at Cobble Creek is the newest amenity for the golf community west of Montrose, off of Chipeta Road.

The restaurant, which is open to the public, features a wood fire pizza oven, and its menu consists of a light Italian and continental cuisine, according to chef Nick Pasquariello, Cobble Creek's food and beverage director.

The facility, originally built for the golf pro shop, reopened in 2009 and was home to administrative offices and Jack's Steakhouse until Jack’s lease expired in January 2012, and Cobble Creek administrators decided to remodel the building and expand seating to accommodate the new restaurant.

Creekside Restaurant can seat 100 people and features a patio that faces the San Juan Mountains. The bar was expanded and a private room can accommodate lunch meetings and parties.

The new restaurant officially opens Thursday, May 3, and will serve lunch from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and dinner from 5-9 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.

Creekside serves signature and build-your-own personal-size pizzas, as well as Italian pasta dishes and sandwiches; the menu features salmon, steaks, veal and various fish entrees, as well.

Visitors to Cobble Creek can to dine at the new restaurant or order off the menu from the golf course's clubhouse next door. Golfers also can order from the number nine tee box (the restaurant's phone number is listed there) and pick up their meal at the number 10 tee box, he said.

Cobble Creek can utilize the restaurant's catering services in its banquet room above the clubhouse that seats up to 125 people for receptions and other special events, said Operations Manager Rob Harper.

With a restaurant now part of Cobble Creek, Harper looks forward to continuity and coordination between facilities and food and beverage services, he said.

“Before, we could help with space, but now we can help with food and beverage too,” Harper said.

The Second Annual Compassion Bash on April 27 was a great example, he added.

“Because food and beverage is the center of any event, it really works well having an integrated entity within the facility where we are able to collaborate and produce an incredible experience for the guests,” Harper said.

More than 110 people attended the Compassion Bash, which included a fashion show, dancing and food from Creekside. Last year, the event raised $1,500 for the nonprofit organization, which provides local individuals with charitable assistance that can't be obtained through other community organizations and services.

Pasquariello used the opportunity to showcase his specialty pizzas, a smoked salmon moose and shrimp salad.

“We got great feedback,” he said.
