GRAND JUNCTION – To investigate an ongoing fraud investigation, officers from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Department of Transportation are searching portions of the Grand Junction Regional Airport throughout Wednesday.
According to FBI media coordinator Dave Joly, federal investigators will be traveling in and around the airport’s terminal seeking information for an ongoing investigation of allegations of fraud.
“This is strictly a fraud investigation,” Joly said on Wednesday. “The FBI and the Department of Transportation authorized the search warrant and there will be a law enforcement presence in the airport.”
Joly said investigators may also conduct searches of one other nearby airport building, approximately a half-mile away from the airport.
