TELLURIDE – Today marks August’s First Thursday Art Walk, a celebration of the arts in downtown Telluride for art lovers, with more than a dozen venues opening their doors, 5-8 p.m., to introduce new artwork. There’s a Kids Walk, as well, complete with a treasure map offering a self-guided tour and simple art-related activities, from 4 to 6 p.m.

Featured Kids Walk venues are the Ah Haa School for the Arts, Lustre, Schilling Studio Gallery, Stronghouse Studios, Telluride Gallery of Fine Art, Wilkinson Public Library, and Hopscotch. All venues offer either kid-friendly refreshments, hands-on activities, or both.

The children’s programming staff at the Wilkinson Library will present an edible art event with Chef Cody. Kids can explore, create, and play with food as they learn the art of cooking.

Art walk maps are available at participating venues and around town or by calling Telluride Arts at 970/728-3930. \
