MONTROSE – At a special meeting Tuesday, the Montrose Board of County Commissioners appointed Mark Young and George Glasier to fill two vacant seats on the Montrose Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees.
The new board members were two of five applicants who interviewed for the board vacancies. By a vote of 2-1, with Commissioner Gary Ellis dissenting, Young was appointed to the five-year seat previously held by James Whitticom. The vote to appoint Glasier to the five-year seat previously held by William Bennett was unanimous.
It is the responsibility of the trustees to manage all funds and secure an annual audit of MMH financial affairs by a certified public accounting firm, and to make decisions regarding the types and scope of services available at the hospital. The trustees also approve the MMH annual management plan, and are tasked with ensuring that the hospital is complying with all laws and regulations.
Glasier and Young’s terms on the board expire on Jan. 14, 2019.
