TELLURIDE – Harken back to a time when a woman with short hair and bared ankles could be arrested this weekend, when the genius of Cole Porter explodes from the Sheridan Opera House stage in Anything Goes.

One of the best-loved Broadway shows of all time, this maritime musical adventure set in the 1930s unfolds on the USS American, a luxury ocean liner with a passenger list featuring ptight aristocrats, gun-toting gangsters and a bevy of bona fide fallen women, singing such classics such as “I Get a Kick Out of You,” “Delovely,” “Friendship” and more.

Anything Goes features a cast of 30 students, from grades 9-12. “Most of these kids have participated in the program, honing their skills for the past 8 or even 10 years,” says SAFYPT Artistic Director/Choreographer Jennifer Julia of the cast.

“This kind of commitment results in high-quality performances that truly shine,” she adds. “Even if you don’t know the students, you will love this show. It’s witty and fast-moving and perfect for adults and kids of all ages.”

Performances take place Friday, Feb. 4-Monday, Feb. 7; reserved-seating tickets cost $11 for kids 12 and under, and $13 for adults (lap children are free). Visit www.sheridanoperahouse.com or call 970.728.6363 x 5 for more information.
