MONTROSE COUNTY – Montrose County Sheriff, Rick Dunlap will lift all fire restrictions in all unincorporated areas of Montrose County effective at 8 a.m. on Friday, July 27.

“With the recent moisture the Uncompahgre Valley has received, conditions have improved in Montrose County therefore I feel it’s appropriate to lift the Stage 1 fire restrictions,” Dunlap said. “We encourage the public to remain cautious and use common sense when burning, we thank everyone for their patience, understanding and compliance during these fire bans.”

This does not affect the city or townships (City of Montrose, towns of Olathe, Nucla or Naturita) located in Montrose County.
