TELLURIDE - Two decades of audible history culminate this September as the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival celebrates 20 years of hosting top musicians and craft beer artisans in Telluride Town Park. Expectations were already high, given the landmark year for the festival, but this top-to-bottom delivery of acts is one of the most balanced arrangements of stellar veterans and rising talent that festivalgoers in Telluride have seen.

Headlining this year are The Black Crowes, Jim James of My Morning Jacket, and Melissa Etheridge. In those three acts alone there are countless charting singles, platinum records, and a handful of the most influential members of alternative music alive today.

While you let that digest for a second, also prepare for the massively buzzing blues guitarist Gary Clark Jr., nu-soul vocal prodigy Allen Stone, and multi-instrumental songstress ZZ Ward. Each finding themselves on some of the biggest festival stages in the country this past year, it is time that these proven standouts make their way to Telluride to show what the talk is all about.

Never straying from the deep roots that enable the aforementioned young and inspired acts, Telluride Blues & Brews also features the genre shapeshifting legend John Hiatt, a very stacked Mickey Hart Band featuring Dave Schools of Widespread Panic, and trance blues six string icon Otis Taylor.

Excited yet? Add in high energy nu-funk outfit The New Mastersounds, Austin’s best rock and rollers The Bright Light Social Hour, and old school gospel funkers The Relatives to the mix, and there are more than a few reasons to get some new laces for your dance kicks.

Somehow that isn’t all. Telluride favorites Karl Denson and Anders Osborne will also make mandatory appearances, along with New Orleans staple act the Rebirth Brass Band.

Telluride Blues & Brews takes place September 13-15, with more than 150 beers from 56 breweries, $40 camping passes, $170 3-day passes and late-night Juke Joints (tickets are now available). Single-day tickets go on-sale June 15 at tellurideblues.com, Telluride Music, and Wizard Entertainment.
