Each year, the city's crews collect landscape materials, scrap materials, appliances and unmounted car and small truck tires from its sanitation customers as part of the city's annual Spring Cleanup event.
“We provide the Spring Cleanup to help keep the city clean and looking good,” Montrose Municipal Services Director Jim Hougnon said. “It started in the early 1970s and continues to be one of the most popular and most successful programs we offer.”
The service is free and all items must be placed at curbside by 7 a.m. on the Monday of the pickup week for that particular area.
Collections from sanitation customers residing north of East Miami Road and South Fifth Street will take place April 2-5, while people residing south of those streets will be served April 9-12, according to the city.
Collection items should not block normal trash containers, as those services will continue regular schedules during the event. Spring Cleanup items also should not be placed in the alleys.
The city will not pick up tree limbs, routine household trash, hazardous materials, electronic devices, paint or large truck or tractor tires as part of this event.
