Toddler Dies From ‘Blunt Force Trauma’ in Montrose County

MONTROSE – Montrose County Coroner Dr. Thomas Canfield has reported the Wednesday, April 11 death of 19-month-old toddler Owen Daniel Reak, from Grand Junction.

The toddler died in Montrose County. 

According to the press release issued by the coroner’s office, “The preliminary cause of death was non-accidental blunt force trauma and the matter of death is homicide. The autopsy report has been sealed by the court.  The case is currently under investigation by the Montrose County Coroner’s Office of Medical Investigations, and the Montrose and Mesa County Sheriff’s Offices.”
