Along with all of the board members of the One to One San Miguel Mentoring Program, I would like to express my sincere thanks to all of you who came together to make last week’s Top Chef Competition and World Wine Tasting such a great success. I’d like to start off by thanking our mentors. You make a difference in the lives of so many kids in our community. Our town is a better place because of you.
The Peaks Hotel was a most generous host for the event. We greatly appreciate the owners, management, and staff for their support.
Special thanks extend to Patrick Laguenes, Executive Chef and F&B Director, for his organization of the competition and to his staff for all of their time and effort. For the diverse and copious selection of wine, we thank Leah Deane of the Republic National Distributing Company.
Our fantastic competitors and their sous chefs made it an event to remember: Eliza Gavin of 221 S. Oak, Chef Bud of Taste Bud’s Catering, Erich Owen of The Chop House, and Mark Regiannini of La Marmotte. Thank you for sharing your time and talent.
Finally, thanks to our judges, volunteers, silent auction donors, Dean Rolley, Jeff and Jenika Downs of Kinikin Farms, One to One staff, and to all of you who attended. During a time of struggle for all non- profits, we greatly appreciate the outpouring of support and enthusiasm from so many in our community. All of the proceeds from the event will be put to use improving the lives of local youth.
