Two Gingerbread House Workshops, Dec. 11-12

OURAY COUNTY – Weehawken/Voyager Gingerbread House Workshops Dec. 11, 12

Two Gingerbread House Workshops will be held next weekend, hosted by Weehawken Creative Arts and Voyager Youth Program. The Ouray Gingerbread House Workshop takes place Saturday, Dec. 11, 10 a.m.-12 p.m., at the Ouray Community Center. The Ridgway Gingerbread House Workshop takes place Sunday, Dec. 12, 1-3 p.m., in Condor Hall, at the Ridgway Elementary School.

“We get a lot of interest in our Gingerbread Workshops,” said Ashley King, executive director of Weehawken Creative Arts.  “Everyone loves a gingerbread house, and these workshops are a fun holiday activity for parents and children to work on together. We are very excited to have expanded the program and now have it in each of the communities – which was all made possible by the generosity of our wonderful sponsors.  This is truly a Ouray County holiday tradition!”

This free program is limited to 25 families in each community, with one house per family, and pre-registration. Gingerbread house forms, icing and decorations are provided, but participants are encouraged to bring additional items.

Reservations can be made online or by phone, at www.weehawkenarts.org or at 970/318-0150, on a first-come, first-served basis.
