Telluride Truffle Named Top Chocolate Shop

TELLURIDE – Kudos to local chocolatier Patty Denny and her homegrown Telluride Truffles, which earned a spot on the Huffington Post earlier this week as one of Colorado’s top chocolate shops in honor of National Chocolates and Mousse Day.

Denny wasn’t quite certain why the popular web-only news service chose to illustrate its only non-chain, Four Corners pick with a photo of her signature, pyramid-shaped truffles half-hidden in a mug of milk, but she was nonetheless ecstatic at the prominent mention of the brand she founded in 1997. Since then Denny has slowly built her Belgian chocolate- and organic cream-based business, finally opening a storefront in Telluride’s historic downtown in the summer of 2009.

“I’m so psyched, it’s very exciting,” said Denny.

“I read the Huffington Post,” she continued. “That’s a pretty big reach.”

Capella-Telluride Wins SpaFinder Readers’ Choice

TELLURIDE – Capella Telluride has won a 2010 SpaFinder Readers’ Choice Award for the category of “Favorite New Getaway Spa.” Spa-goers cast a record number of votes in the eighth-annual Awards, which are considered the most thorough and independent assessment of spas worldwide.

“Winning a Readers’ Choice Award is a remarkable achievement,” said Susie Ellis, president of SpaFinder, Inc. “Spa-goers are looking for a spa that offers their desired experience and helps them meet their specific goals. There are over 15,000 destination, resort and hotel spas around the world, and to be singled out by our readers is a tremendous honor.”

Throughout the year, spa-goers voted on their favorite spas overall – by continent and country/region – along with their picks for “Favorite Spa.”

The boutique Spa at Capella features an oxygen bar, two single and three couples’ treatment rooms

“We are honored to receive this prestigious award,” said Jenny Farrand, spa director of The Spa at Capella Telluride.

Readers’ Choice Award winners will be featured in the NewBeauty SpaFinder Guide to Global Spa, Wellness & Beauty, which will be on newsstands in November. A complete list of winners can be viewed at http://www.spafinder.com/spaguide/readerschoice/2010.htm.
