MONTROSE – At its new location in Montrose, the local franchise owners of Budget Blinds, the largest custom window covering and home décor company in the U.S., will be holding a grand opening event on Feb. 4 and 5 with energy consulting and cash prizes that will highlight the company’s services to homeowners living in San Miguel, Delta, Montrose and Gunnison counties.

Longtime Montrose residents Dale and Cheryl Zahniser purchased the local Budget Blinds franchise last May and decided to move it from Oxbow Crossing to a larger space at 901 South Townsend Ave. Now that they are settled into the new showroom, which is almost twice the size of its previous location, the Zahniser’s are ready to hold a grand opening.

“We are going to have a $500 gift certificate drawing, and one of our design consultants will be on hand offering an energy evaluation on what different window coverings would be best and why,” Dale said. “We have a much larger space and more showroom things to look at.”

The Budget Blinds concept is unique in that consumers can shop where their windows are – at home. Style consultants from Budget Blinds bring the showroom into consumers’ homes so they can better determine what the final outcome will be. Dale says his business does pretty much everything that goes on or near windows, be it shutters, drapes, blinds or retractable screen doors.

“Our window-covering specialists come directly to customers’ homes to display products, professionally measure and install the products,” he said. “The consumer never needs to leave home to shop for window coverings or be concerned about taking proper measurements.”

Once the homeowner decides on treatments, colors and extras from thousands of options and combinations, consultants measure the windows to insure proper fit and order the product. When the customer’s order arrives, Budget Blinds installs the window coverings. Budget Blinds also extends its exclusive “No Questions Asked” guarantee on many of the products it sells.

“Nothing is more frustrating in a home improvement project than discovering the color isn’t quite right or the size is just off when you get the products home,” Zahniser said. “We eliminate a good deal of the guesswork by bringing thousands of samples with us and exploring different ways consumers can dress their windows to suit their style.”

Budget Blinds serves a wide region in western Colorado including Montrose, Telluride, Ridgway, Ouray, Delta, Hotchkiss, Paonia, Gunnison, Crested Butte, and Lake City.

“We pretty much cover everything from Telluride to Paonia and from Montrose to the Utah border,” he said.

According to Zahniser, Budget Blinds works with nearly 30 leading window covering manufacturers and offers its own private-label line of window treatments, Signature Series®. For more information on Budget Blinds of Montrose call 970/240-0099 or visit www.budgetblinds.com/Montrose-Telluride/.
