MONTROSE – The Bureau of Land Management’s Southwest Colorado

Resource Advisory Council subgroup will meet Monday, Feb. 7, at the Holiday Inn

The seven-member RAC subgroup will focus on the San Miguel and Dolores river tributaries in an effort to come up with Wild and Scenic River suitability recommendations for the Uncompahgre Field Office’s Resources Management Plan. 

The open-to-the-public meeting has a public comment period scheduled for 11 a.m.

The Southwest Colorado RAC subgroup, composed of area residents representing diverse interests within the Uncompahgre Field Office, will provide recommendations to the BLM Southwest Colorado RAC regarding suitable stream inclusion in the National Wild and Scenic River System. One of three advisory councils to BLM Colorado, the RAC is one of 15 members appointed by the Secretary of the

Interior, selected to represent a broad range of public land interests, ranging from environmental to local government to commercial activity.
