RIDGWAY – Longtime Ridgway Tow Councilmember John Clark won his bid to become Ridgway’s mayor with a resounding 238-50 vote margin over Janet Smith in Tuesday’s election. According to Town Clerk Pam Kraft, a record 292 voters cast ballots this year, surpassing the previous record 236 in 2004.

Three councilmembers, running unopposed, were also elected this week. Incumbent Rick Weaver received 248 votes. Incumbent Richard Durnan received 230 votes. And newcomer Jason Gunning, running to fill Clark’s vacant seat, polled 212 votes.
