RIDGWAY – The Galloping Goose Restaurant and Café, destroyed by fire one year ago this weekend, will be celebrating its grand re-opening on Friday, Sept. 12, from 3-6 p.m. C.W. McCall, who penned the song “Galloping Goose” (“Runnin’ hot and on the loose/ Came Number Five, The Gallopin’ Goose”), will cut the ribbon, and visitors will be treated to free food and beverages as well as hourly door prizes and free tethered balloon rides for kids, courtesy of San Juan Balloons.

The party begins Friday morning and runs all weekend, with restaurant patrons treated to free coffee with any order, breakfast and lunch specials, and the chance to register for drawings, with prizes such as free hot air balloon rides, horseback riding with Deb’s Livery, free meals from the Goose and more.

“We are so glad to be able to serve the community once again,” said owner Lisa Lockhart. “We want to share our joy and gratitude for the town’s support and patience as we invite everyone to celebrate with us.”
