RIDGWAY – The new Open Bard Poetry Series kicks off at the Sherbino Theater on Thursday, Oct. 3, with a reading by Western Colorado poet Wendy Videlock.
The series, which takes place on first Thursdays, October through May, features a different nationally or regionally known Colorado poet each month. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the reading starts at 6:30 p.m. Each session concludes with an open reading for community poets.
Videlock's poems have appeared widely, most notably in Poetry, The New York Times, The Hudson Review, and Poetry Review. Her first book, Nevertheless, was released in 2010; The Dark Gnu was released early this year, both published by Able Muse Press. Videlock was just named a finalist for the 2013 Rattle poetry prize.
