Telluride Library Announces Free Fitness Programs, Film Series

TELLURIDE – The Wilkinson Public Library announced this week a string of new fitness programs and a film series. Here’s what’s happening at the library starting in October:


Cinematheque Film Series:

In conjunction with the recent Telluride Film Fest, the library has announced a fall film series focused on women directors; each of the films has been screen at the Telluride Film Fest. Each film will begin screening at 6:00 p.m. on the listed dates.


Oct. 7 – Frida (Julie Taymor, U.S., 2002)

Nov. 4 – Desert Hearts (Donna Deitch, U.S., 1985)

Dec. 2 – Salaam Bombay (Mira Nair, India, 1988)

Jan. 6 – Italian for Beginners (Lone Scherfig, Denmark, 2000)

Feb. 3 – Persepolis (Marjane Satrapi, France/US, 2007)

March 3 – The Piano (Jane Campion, France/Australia, 1993)



For five days of the week, the library will offer free fitness classes, and there’s something for everyone. Join Regan Tuttle for the usual Tuesday morning parental yoga session from 9-10 a.m., and starting Saturday, Sept. 28, treat yourself to a free acro-yoga class taught by Elijah Trinity, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Starting October 16, join Carrie Balbraith Wednesdays, 8-9 a.m., for yoga, and Anikke Storm for pilates Thursdays, 8:30-9:30 a.m., starting Oct. 24. Start your weekend right by getting your blood pumping on Thursdays 8:30-10 a.m. with Andrea Ball for basic yoga courses, and at Saturday Zumba classes from 10-11 a.m., starting Oct. 5.
