This letter is for all you Telluriders who spoke out against renaming your post office after General Norman Schwarzkopf. You really don’t get it you, do you?
Norman Schwarzkopf was one of our most brilliant military leaders ever. He honored your town by choosing to make it his part-time home. He worked in your community to make it better and you people disgraced yourselves by “dissing” one of the greatest Americans who ever lived.
I certainly understand that the General’s family would withdraw his name for consideration of the renaming of the post office…I can’t blame them, given the way you insulted him.
The General accomplished so many great things, but the one that I am most grateful for is he brought back our country’s respect for the men and women who serve it. Because of him, I am once again proud to be a Vietnam veteran.
You people owe General Schwarzkopf and his family a huge apology. Come to think of it, you owe a huge apology to the United States.
