Shakey Graves (one man band phenom Alejandro RoseGarcia) will headline day two of this year’s Colorado Music Party showcase at Austin’s South by Southwest (SXSW) music festival. Appearing courtesy of the Telluride Blues and Brews Festival, and represented by Colorado’s 7s Management, the Austin-based artist was selected to wrap up the final day of the showcase on Friday, March 14 as a demonstration of the uniquely talented acts the Colorado music industry attracts.
“Telluride Blues & Brews Festival is proud to have Shakey Graves perform as a headliner for the Colorado Music Party. Telluride Blues & Brews is treating this as an early announcement and special treat for his placement at the 21st Annual Blues & Brews Festival, September 12, 13, 14, 2014,” said Bill Kight, director of marketing and public relations for SBG Productions. “Although he does not hail from Colorado, the moment we heard Shakey we knew he would be well received in the Colorado music market and we wanted to share his music with everyone. People from Colorado are known for their musical passion and to be able to bring Shakey’s soulful voice and guitar mastery to the Colorado Music Party is an honor.”
Shakey Graves was recently featured in Paste Magazine as “The Best of What’s Next”, and in 2012, the mayor of Austin proclaimed February 9 to be “Shakey Graves Day” (the third annual celebration takes place this upcoming weekend). According to the The New York Times, Shakey Graves “makes the one man band approach look effortless.”
Colorado Music Party showcase organizers also announced today that two landmark Colorado outdoor venues will sponsor the stages at this year’s showcase. Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Mishawaka Amphitheatre will support the talent packed performances alongside presenting sponsors Reverb, SpokesBUZZ and OpenAir, with Colorado’s New Belgium Brewing keeping things fun for festivalgoers.

The Colorado Music Party started in 2013 as a campaign strategy designed to rise above the noise at SXSW. Twelve Colorado music industry partners and 81 bands resolved to set aside “competitive”, to embrace collaborative and to amplify the collective voice of the dynamic Colorado music scene during Austin’s annual international festival. This year, The Colorado Music Party is presented by Reverb, SpokesBUZZ and OpenAir, sponsored in part by Colorado Creative Industries and Colorado’s New Belgium Brewing Company, and supported by funding from the Colorado Tourism Office, a state agency. Stage sponsors include Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Mishawaka Amphitheatre. Other showcase partners include, 7s Management, Yellowbright, Colorado Case Company, Illegal Pete’s, Telluride Blues & Brews, Snowmass Mammoth Fest, Sweetwine Entertainment Group, Immersive Records, Born Guitars, Door to Door Organics, Band Dynamics, Grant Consulting Inc., Chipper’s Lanes and Unconventional Ink.
