Born April 8, 1918 in Berkeley, Calif., Duffield spent her childhood in Corning, Calif., graduating from college at U.C. Berkeley. She married Robert B. Duffield in Santa Fe, N.M., who preceded her in death in 2000.
She was executive assistant to directors of the National Accelerator Laboratory, of Scripps Institute of Oceanography and Los Alamos National Laboratory, prior to her retirement in Norwood, where she was active in the community, and served on the board for the Uncompahgre Medical Clinic for many years.
Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Duffield and Libby Dietrick; and grandson, Miles Duffield. At Duffield’s request, cremation has taken place. Arrangements are under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home and Crematory, in Montrose.
