TELLURIDE – The producers of Telluride Gay Ski Week have named The Peaks Resort and Spa as the Host Hotel for the Seventh Annual Telluride Gay Ski Week, scheduled for Feb. 20-27, and presented by the Matthew Shepard Foundation.
Telluride Gay Ski Week has been ranked the Number One Gay Ski Week in the United States in the global ranking by Gay.com, the leading Internet resource for the Gay Lesbian Bisexual Transgender (GLBT) community.

Paul Zabel Joins Elevation Vacations as CEO
TELLURIDE – Paul Zabel is back in the property management and resort accommodations business after joining Elevation Vacations as that company’s co-owner and chief operating officer.
Zabel, A 17-year Telluride region resident, has worked to develop and shape some of Telluride’s biggest property-management firms.
Zabel became an owner of Alpine Lodging in 1997, overseeing that company’s sales’ growth from $700,000 to $3.8 million in five years. During that time, Alpine increased its inventory from 40 units to 160 units, acquired Telluride.com, and added a real estate division and travel agency to its services.
“I’m excited about this new opportunity, because I’m returning to a business that I know very well,” said Zabel, who worked in real estate after selling Alpine in 2005 until taking the helm at Elevation Vacations last months. “I’m working with a company that represents some of the best properties in the region,” he said.
“I’ll be 100 percent focused on improving sales and service on behalf of our clients.”
Elevation Vacations recorded a 30 percent increase in December 2009 bookings over 2008, and is forecasting a 20 percent forecast jump in January 2010 over 2009.
