On behalf of over 50 volunteer firefighters who fought the Baked in Telluride fire I would like to express our gratitude for all the support and appreciation given us by the Telluride community.

We would like to give special thanks to Brown Dog Pizza, Christian Fellowship, Fat Alley, Flora Dora, Maggie’s and Village Market for providing us with food and coffee and to Dr. Carol Adams for giving us chiropractic adjustments.

This was a tough and tragic fire. While there was smoke everywhere it was impossible to locate the seat of the fire in the structure underneath layers of flooring constructed over the last 118 years. The fire spread through the layers of flooring despite our cutting several holes and flooding the crawl space below. Ultimately, as the building weakened, we had to pull our firefighters out for safety.

Fortunately no one was seriously hurt and we were able to save adjacent buildings despite the tremendous heat generated by the bakery fire.
