Memorial Service Sunday, June 9, 10 a.m., Top of the Gondola
Longtime Telluride resident Elizabeth Stiles Patterson tragically passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2013. Fondly known as Bets, she was born to Steve and Jenny Patterson on April 3, 1990. Elizabeth graduated from Telluride High School in 2008, attended CU-Boulder, and was currently living in Moab, Utah, working as a nanny.
Elizabeth came to us at the first touch of Spring in 1990. Bright and beautiful, she immediately charmed our lives. She enjoyed writing poetry and drawing. Bets loved unicorns and little children. She looked forward every year to attending the Telluride Bluegrass Festival (this would have been her 23rd).
She is survived by her parents, Jenny and Steve, and her brother, Chas Patterson, as well as her great aunt, Mary Merchant Sturgeon, numerous aunts, uncles and many cousins who grieve with her many friends as she passes from this life. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her grandparents, Elizabeth Gerard Tyson, Charles Roland Leutz, Wilma Geilfus and John Tanner Patterson, and by her uncle, Chip Leutz.
The Patterson family would like to thank the Moab and Telluride communities for being so amazing. We are grateful to you all.
On Sunday, June 9, family and friends will join together at 10 a.m. for a simple memorial to celebrate the life of Elizabeth at the top of the gondola on the Telluride Ski Area. You are welcome to bring photos and stories to share.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite animal rescue shelter in her name. Condolences may be sent to Jenny, Steve and Chas at P.O. Box 125, Telluride, CO 81435.
